Wiccan Ethics

As individuals, we each create our own unique spiritual path.  We make decisions about our spiritual growth based on our past experiences, personal beliefs as to what is “right “or “wrong,” and current insights and education.  Given the variety of opinions and information about Wiccan Ethics available, we can sometimes find ourselves sinking in a quagmire of opposing view points with no staff of truth in sight.  Trying to graft together an ethical framework from personal history, beliefs, and current teachings can be difficult.  This discussion based course is meant to help students develop a personal Wiccan Code of Ethics through exploration of such topics as the Wiccan Rede, Immanent Divinity, Power, Free Will, and others as time permits.  Class participation is required as lecture will be minimal.  Students will be assigned discussion questions to complete prior to each class and will be required to keep a reflection journal for recording personal ethics insights.

Open to Petitioners.  Pre-requisite: Wicca I&II.

The Ritual Wardrobe

Donning ritual garb is an essential ritual element.  It allows the ritualist to mentally transition from mundane to sacred space.  TotAL requires dedicants to all have the same basic robe.  In this workshop you will be making your first TotAL robe.  Materials run $10-$15 depending on robe size.  Pattern & equipment are provided.

Open to Petitioners.  Pre-requisite: Wicca I&II, submission of Dedicant petition.

Advanced Wicca Studies Series

The AWS Series of classes was developed to provide students with exposure to advanced topics and techniques for spiritual development and expression.  Current areas of study include Symbology, Pathworking, Castings, and a Special Projects independent study.

These classes are intended for Dedicants and Initiates of the Temple of the Azure Lotus.

AWS I: Topics in Symbology

Topics in Symbology is an on going seminar that presents different material every time it is offered.  The basic focus of this course is to give students a minimum fluency in a variety of established esoteric symbol systems.

Topics:

Anatomy of the Tree:  An introduction to Qabala and its uses in Wiccan spirituality.

Magickal Astrology:  An introduction to the use of Astrology for magickal purposes and spiritual growth.

Pantheons:  An exploration of mythological themes and their symbolic use in ritual.

The Fools Journey:  A study of the symbolic journey of the Major Arcana.

Open to Dedicants.  Pre-Requisites:  Wicca I&II

AWS II:  Pathworking

Pathworking is an exploratory process which gives the practitioner the ability to discover the link between self and deity through the use of symbols, visualization, and guided meditation.  The purpose of AWS II:  Pathworking is to provide students with the opportunity to experience pathworkings created from specific symbol sets, and the ability to create their own for personal or ritual use.

Open to Initiates.  Pre-Requisites:  Wicca I&II, at least three sections of AWS I.

AWS III: Beyond the Quarter Cast Circle

The quarter cast circle is the traditional method for creating ritual space. But it is not the only method.  In Beyond the Quarter Cast Circle students will consider the meaning of sacred space and reflect upon its various forms, experience different established methods for casting, and develop unique and personal ways of creating ritual space.

Open to Initiates.  Pre-Requisites:  Wicca 1&2, AWS I&II

AWSP:  Special Projects

Special Projects is an advanced Wicca course for students wishing to engage in self-initiated independent study under the supervision of the TotAL HPs.  The topic, and any specific requirements for the special project will be negotiated between the student and HP after a formal proposal form has been submitted.  Students wishing to pursue this method of study must have completed Wicca 1&2, and AWS I&II prior to submitting a project proposal for consideration.  Students will repeat this course during each tier of upper level training.

Open to Initiates.  Pre-Requisites:  Wicca 1&2, AWS I & II.  This class may be repeated upon completion of AWS III.

Additional work will be assigned within each degree level dependent on an individual student's skills, interests, and time constraints.
